Volunteers have fun, make friends, learn about LGBTQ cinema, connect with the Bloomington community, and feel good about making the PRIDE Film Festival happen!
Some tasks for this year’s Festival include:
- attending movie previews, evaluating films, helping the Steering Committee choose this year’s final line-up
- postering/flyering
- ushering at the Festival
- party setup – quick hands are needed to transform the theater space into party central on Saturday night
Free tickets for Thursday and Friday night screenings are available to all volunteers. We are flexible with shifts times and we can tailor volunteer activities to suit individuals’ requirements and interests.

We need your support! Ticket revenue only covers half of the expenses of the PRIDE Film Festival each year – the rest comes from you!
Your donation allows us to:
- pay the talented filmmakers who spent years of their lives and thousands of dollars creating the wonderful Festival films
- pay the rent of the historic Buskirk-Chumley Theater
- expand marketing of the Festival so people in the entire region come to Bloomington to celebrate the diversity that is our hometown
- create the most exciting, wholistic celebration of LGBTQ diversity possible
